Animal Farm

A personal challenge, I wanted to reimagine the design for one of the most well-known books of the last century. In my first redesign, the idea was to visually express on of the most iconic lines of the book and let it speak for the cover. The title would be on the spine, but the cover, with the author's name printed large, would say all that needed to be said.

For the second version, the inspiration was the famous Russian Constructivist posters of the Early Soviet period, (see example http://3v6x691yvn532gp2411ezrib-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/A.Rodchenko.jpg). I wanted to create a similar feel and style. Using bold, angular type and creating original art—including a Marxist pig—I came up with a Soviet Propaganda book cover.

The third book features the amazing language of the book itself. Each cover uses different passages of the book so each
is unique.
