Never Let Me Go
The brief was to update the classic literary novel with a tone-appropriate design
This novel is a literary "horror" story. It's about (SPOILER ALERT) kids growing up in an English boarding school who very slowly realize they are clones who are born just to be spare body parts for their "real" counterparts. So as they get older, they will have to give "donations" and eventually die. However, in the beginning of the novel, they have no idea of this and live in an idyllic boarding school enjoy making art to give away to others.
For the covers, I used the idea of donations, in cutting out pieces of the title, as in the first one. For the second cover, I used the idea that the children's created "art" to donate and made the art actual body parts.

I took the idea of using the art "donations" further, using the art vertically and using different type treatments.
